If you're always trying to be normal you will never know how amazing you can be.

-Maya Angelou

Mental Health Stigma

There are two types of stigma, as it relates to mental health.

Public Stigma is the perception or reactions society has towards those suffering with mental illness.

Self-stigma is the prejudice which those suffering with the mental illness turn against themselves; oftentimes suffering in silence.

Although there may be a lack of understanding from friends, family, and the general public surrounding mental health and treatment, it is not something you should be ashamed of. Your feelings are valid because you matter.

Becoming Undone Therapy Services is working diligently to help spread mental health awareness, so that seeking treatment can be normalized into our everyday lives.

Positive affirmations to practice daily!

"I have the courage to create positive change in my life."

"I am learning to trust the journey."

"Every challenge I face is an opportunity to grow and improve."

"Today, I abandon my old habits and take up new, more positive ones."

"I am enough."

You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them. -Maya Angelou
